Bubba Blaze Hayes -When you think about the word Blaze, you think about a fast moving fire that brings with it destruction and mayhem. Back in 1975 when Bubba, first started racing, he quickly destroyed his competition much like that fast moving Blaze of fire. Bubba has been racing even before racing as a sport was developed. His first few races did not even have a starting gate. Determination was something Bubba had and it showed not only to the kids he was racing but also to bicycle companies.

Bubba took this determination and turned it into an opportunity and when he was 12, he took off over the road with SE Bikes on the famous SE Camo Bus; being one of the first people in the country at this young age to do so. Just a year later, he was spreading his flames around the world eventually even traveling to places like Australia, New Zealand and even Japan. Yes, Bicycle Motocross Racing had taken off and had become a real sport and Bubba showed himself to be a true athlete in this sport. Bubba went on to be ranked as National Bicycle League’s national number 2, 4 and 7 and even ranked number 3 in the world. He also ranked in American Bicycle Association as the national number 10 and 15 rider Bubba now has a family and still competes but even his 5 children compete in the sport of BMX.

Todd “SARGE” Hood – I have been happily married to Shelly for 17 years and currently in the process of moving to a new home in Monument CO. I served as an Airborne Ranger for 20 years from 1991- 2011 and retired last Oct as a Master Sergeant having served three combat tours. I began BMX racing in CT as a 13 Novice and raced until I was 18X in Connecticut NBL. I was a state champ in class and cruiser around 1985 and 86. In 2008 I got involved with MOJO Wheels racing out of Denver CO racing four cross and downhill and still currently participate in many Mountain oriented events focusing on Downhill/ Super D events in 2012.

In Nov 2010 I found BMX once again when I raced in the MTB class at Greeley indoor BMX and realized how much fun the BMX track was and immediately built up a cruiser and began racing in the 36-40 cruiser class. In 2011 I attained the three in the state series but dropped to 8 in district because of a serious dual slalom crash a Sol Vista where I suffered a collapsed lung, broken collarbone, and three broken ribs. Through volunteer work at Pikes Peak BMX I became good friends with Bubba Hayes and joined his SE squad with much success this season. I currently maintain a busy balancing act between full time college at Pikes Peak Community, mountain bike races and my passion right now racing my 24” XXL BLAZE Cruiser in the 40-45 age class on the new BLAZE factory team!

I look forward to seeing what the BicyleXperience future has in store and am proud to be a Owner of something great! My main goals right now are to run a successful bike shop, enjoy a healthy retired life with Shelly and our dogs, maintain good grades in school, be a positive contributor, and a positive role model for all people around me.
