We live and breathe trail culture. Founded by riders and veteran-owned, Bicycle Experience is a community hub in Ivywild. We specialize in trail, enduro, and adventure bikes, offering true in-house suspension rebuilds and year-round support—from summertime dirt to winter snow tuning. Do I need an appointment to drop off my bike or snowboard?
Walk-ins are always welcome! Stop by anytime during business hours for quick check-ins, flat fixes, or tuning drop-offs. For extensive custom bike build consultations or full frame wraps, giving us a call in advance helps us reserve dedicated mechanic time for you.
Who is Carl?
Carl is our official shop cat, head of morale, and Quality Control Director. You’ll often spot him lounging near the service bay double-checking that cable routings look crisp before rigs head out the door.
Who owns Bicycle Experience in Colorado Springs?
Bicycle Experience was purchased in 2013 by Army veteran Todd Hood. Shawn D’Aurelio acquired the shop in July of 2026. Shawn has many years of cycling experience and also owns and operates Synaptic Cycles in Dana Point, CA. He joined forces with his brother, Brandon D’Aurelio (long-time General Manager at Bicycle Experience).

We proudly stock top-tier mountain bike brands built for aggressive trail and enduro riding, including Yeti Cycles, NORCO, and Santa Cruz. We also carry apparel, protection, and gear from leading brands in the industry.
Do you offer financing options?
Yes! We offer 12 months interest-free financing through Synchrony Financing to help get you on your dream bike or setup today.
How does the custom bike build process work at Bicycle Experience?
Building your dream bike should be an exciting journey!
- Rider Profile & Consultation: We talk about your riding style, preferred trails, and budget.
- Component Selection: Choose your frame, drivetrain, wheelset, suspension, and fit components.
- The Build & Tuning: Our master mechanics assemble, tune, bleed, and precision-adjust every bolt.
- Final Inspection & Test Ride: Carl gives it the once-over, and you take it for a spin to dial in the fit!
Can I bring in my own frame or parts for a custom build?
Absolutely! Whether you purchased a frame directly from a manufacturer or collected components over time, we’ll build your rig to factory precision. We charge $250 for our PRO BUILD assembly service
Do you stock electric mountain bikes (e-MTBs)?
Yes! We stock premier electric mountain bikes like the Yeti MTe and LTe, as well as the Aventon Current eMTB. We are also the largest Aventon dealer in Colorado Springs, carrying casual and budget-friendly eBikes like the Aventon ADV and EXP, as well as models from Lectric and Juiced (including the Juiced Scrambler).
Do you offer frame protection film (Clear Bra) installation?
Yes! Protecting your investment from Colorado granite and shuttle scratches is crucial. We offer professional full-frame paint protection film (Clear Bra) installation for $250.
Repairs, Maintenance & In-House Suspension
What sets your suspension servicing apart?
Unlike shops that box up your fork or rear shock and ship it out for weeks, we perform in-house suspension rebuilds and servicing. Our expert suspension technicians rebuild major fork and shock brands right here in Colorado Springs, keeping your downtime to a minimum.
What are your standard repair labor rates?
We believe in upfront, transparent pricing:
- Standard Tune-Up: $110
- Major Tune (Our Most Popular Service): $180 (We remove all parts, run them through the parts washer, reassemble, lube, and adjust everything)
- Hydraulic Brake Bleed: $45
- Hydraulic Brake Installation: $50
- Fork Service Labor: $85
- Rear Shock Service Labor: $65
- Boxed Bike Assembly: $150
- Shop Supply Fee: $10 per tune-up
Can I get my bike fixed fast if I have an upcoming race or trip?
Yes! While our standard turnaround is efficient, we offer a 24-Hour Rush Service option ($60 fee) for urgent repair needs.
Do you service gravel, road, or commuter bikes?
While mountain and trail adventure bikes are our passion, our mechanics have decades of experience working on all pedal-driven bicycles. Drop by with your bike and we’ll keep you rolling.
Winter Sports, Snowboards & Lenz Ski Bikes
What winter gear and services do you offer when the trails freeze?
We pivot into a full-service winter shop! Never Summer is our premier snowboard brand. We also stock Rome Snowboards and bindings for purchase. In addition, we offer professional ski and snowboard tuning right here in Ivywild.
How fast is your ski and snowboard tuning turnaround?
We pride ourselves on quick turnaround times so you don’t miss a powder day! Our standard tuning service is ready within 24 hours, and we offer same-day rush options when you need to head up the mountain fast.
Do you offer seasonal or daily snowboard rentals?
We do not offer general snowboard rentals. However, we may offer select demo boards from Never Summer during the season—contact the shop for current demo availability!s.

What community or military initiatives does Bicycle Experience support?
Being located near major military installations in Colorado Springs, we are honored to partner with the Soldier Recovery Unit to support wounded, ill, and injured service members through cycling and outdoor recreation.
